I know that other Case fakes have been called the worst ever, but I'm thinking this one may even be WORSER that the worst!

That is a bad one! But a great example of a cold stamp - worse than most you’ll see though. Note how the stamp appears mashed into the steel, as oppose to being cut into it. The letters are broad and the edges not crisp, the ends of letters (T, E, X) are rounded rather than having sharp, squared corners.

What a shame. I have bought from that seller, it was a legit Kabar, beautiful knife. I wonder if the seller knows it is a counterfeit.

The seller deals in a lot of "questionable" knives. There is a another thread about one here last week or so, listed as a Case Tested knife "made from old parts" which were old Kutmaster parts.
As many knives as they sell, I suspect they either know, or don't care. Caveat Emptor!

Thanks for explaining the difference. I hadn’t caught on to how to tell the difference between cold and hot stamping.

someone has gotten a lot of mileage out of that stamp over the last 30+ years. It looks like a RR with some Winterbottom from a model knife repair supplier, mingled with a cold stamp. Is any of this stainless? If the blade or spring is, you know the jig is up....
