I have just begun my interest into Ulster in past year or so. I have ventured into a very useful website, WWW.Collectors-of-Schrades-R-us. Thank you to the fellow collectors, who have invested their time and resources to list and upload many dealer catalogs and info pages of Schrade, Camillus, Kutmaster, as well as Ulster. Spefically of the Ulsters, I do hope more dated publications are available. Obviously, a simple answer could be that, other catalogs have not survived the years unfortunately.
From only such that are listed, the format of pattern numbers have been changed in 1953, 1960. Also the material of the handles progressed from wood, to genuine bone stag, to bonite, and finally to staglon. Of course, the patterns of knives have changed the inventory of production knives on the market. And the tang stamp signature has been redesigned, most early knives had no pattern numbers.
Just common sense says this is the challenge involved in knife collecting. So I am hoping the builders ofWWW.Collectors-of-Schrades-R.us have any other pages to add to this "one of a kind" resource. ::handshake::
