Case Vault Question

Hello Folks,

I have a stupid question but as you know me, I'm going to ask it anyways. :mrgreen:

Actually it's two questions. ::hmm::

#1) Is there a list of patterns that are locked away in the Case Vault?

#2) Is there any chance that XX Era patterns are among them or will ever be produced again? To be more specific I am curious about the Case XX 1940-64 Pretty Bone 6229 1/2 Tadpole Knife. (my Grail knife) Any chance Case will ever produce these again? ::shrug::

Appreciate your comments gentlemen. ::nod:: Thanks! ::handshake:: ::super_happy::

Here's what I posted about the vault program in answer to a similar question https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... t#p1052970

So I don't know if the Tadpole pattern is in the vault but I doubt it is. I think Case discontinued it in the late 1960s. If not it is doubtful they will tool it up to run on their modern factory equipment. That costs a lot of money so they'd have to sell a lot of the pattern to recoup that cost.

We all have our favorite patterns that we wish they still made, and can't understand why everyone doesn't want one (or more) of them. I'm pretty sure being savvy business operators Case isn't holding out those patterns just to spite us. :lol: They make what sells. JMO

Well said Ken. I don't think much about the Case Vault anymore. It basically
is a marketing ploy. As stated previously, Case will make what will give
them the best return on investment. In one light, it may not be such
a bad thing after all since it may keep the company in business in the
years ahead.
