Have had this one awhile & not sure of it's purpose. Spear point blade sharp on one side & saw-toothed on the other. Wood handles attached w/ screwnuts. Thought of a duct knifebut never saw one w/ a guard and/or a saw blade. Maybe for frozen food?
What is really puzzling is the ink stamped ad on the blade for,'' BIXBY'S JET-OIL SHOE POLISH''. Any thoughts?

I have one of those, have seen lots more, they are not so uncommon though often seen with the etch worn off. The blades are made from high speed saw blades which is why they have the saw edge. These were give aways by Bixby's and I think but have no proof they were cheap hunting/outdoor knives. There is some info googling. Lots of WW2 theater and home effort knives were made from similar saw blades but the Bixbys pre-date the war.

Thanks for the info amigo! Don't know what type of wood the handles are but the knife is very light

Wood? From the picture I thought they were shoe leather.

I’ve never seen one of those before. Kind of neat, especially with the etch.

When I saw the etch in Ray's other post, I thought it was Dale's at first glance.
