I REALLY like Congress knives, however I don't find them around too often to buy at shows, or other spots... ::hmm:: I see some Pitbull Congress knives, every now and then, and I have a nice Queen Congress knife, but I don't find them too often. It seems that I have had the most luck with finding Bokers for some reason... ::hmm:: ... ::shrug::

I don't know where you're looking but there's a billy blue ton of them on Ebay (unless that's not your cup of tea)
https://www.ebay.com/b/Congress-Pocket- ... 7023334265

New ones can be found on Deadwood Knives & SMKW just to name a few that offer new ones.

Good luck.

Thanks Jerry, ::handshake::... I was referring to my luck in person here in my town, at pawn shops flea markets, a cutlery store with new and used knives, etc...etc... I see tons of "Stockmen" and quite a few Barlows (in fact I just bought 2 "Stockmen" 2 Barlows on Tuesday). But now that I looked on that link you sent, ::paranoid:: ... I see a Bulldog that looks pretty inviting... ::paranoid:: ....at least until the bidding goes bananas as the price bust through the roof ::skeptic::

I can't find the box for this one, but I am pretty sure the scales are horn ( ::paranoid:: ) It was #0125 and I don't recall what type of "run" it was from, ::hmm:: to have that serial #. Anyone know out there, if you have a similar congress like this one with a serial #? ::hmm::

My local knife store got in a bunch of good users in recently--and all of them are Boker Solingen. $40 is the most expensive of them. All never used, never carried, but as usual, usually a tiny carbon spot or something that results in a bargain price. Most of Bokers patterns, but there are more than a few bone-handled Large Congresses--a pattern that's kind of hard to find these days, and the only Congress I like to EDC.

I am looking at getting one to replace an old Case 6488 my Granddad gave me--should I expect the Boker to be every bit as good as the old Case? I have some older standard Boker Congresses (both Solingen--one '50s, one early '00s), and they're both pretty darn good. What I like about the Case that the Bokers don't have is the incredibly strong springs.

My Boker slip joints have stronger springs than my Cases.

Shows changing tasted and uses. Congress, especially large ones, used to be a popular pattern and plentiful. Now they are rarely even produced or carried.

I don't see them very much locally on the used market... stockmen are everywhere, Barlows are everywhere, Camp/Scout knives are everywhere. But the Congress for me are hard to find. :x I love a bone-handled Large Congresses- the closest thing I have seen to that is a large Bulldog Congress at a shop in town, but 2 problems; imitation pearl scales (My LEAST favorite, and he wants the "el primo" top price for it). If it had bone or stag I already would have bought it... ::hmm::

My new Boker is a 4 blade Congress 6006, some staining on the blades, but I'm going to try and clean that up as much as possible.

G dog, this Congress thread has some nice stuff. That Boker 606 is a nice addition to your collection. ::tu:: ::tu::
All I can offer you here is a few old Camillus . The old 4 line with bone gets some pocket time .
Take care out there ::handshake::

Case makes the best, in my opinion. 4 different blades.
