I just picked this up in a multiple Schrade knife purchase, I thought it might be a Ducks Unlimited but I do not know, can anyone give me any information on this one?

The shield is from the 2001-2002 Federal Duck Stamp knife but the problem is, that knife was a sharpfinger or one of the other small sheath knives. I don't believe they did a stag stockman for that year. Also, the duck stamp knives had etched blades. I think your shield was added to a knife with a shield cavity that happened to be the same size, either at the factory as a second or end of days knife, or by an owner who lost the original shield.

Thank you, I got this from the seller.
"Schrade 885 parts knife before they shut down."

Here's mine. Same story of "end of days" knife as yours. Mine never got a shield, and is ported for an oval one, not round. Incomplete. In addition to the lack of a shield, the stag wasn't torched, and there are no bevels on any of the blades.
Love the fat stag.

So these are known as "end of days knives" ?
This forum is great.
Thank you.

Regardless of how the knife in the original post came
about, very nice knife. Love that shield even if it
was meant for some other series.

Check out below thread. More info that might interest you.
I think your knife might have started out as an unfinished over-run from the UST3GS sets that was completed and sold when Schrade was shutting down. Eric was good enough to confirm (in final post of below thread) that single color etches went on last after the knife was otherwise finished.
