That's a good idea. Do public schools even teach civics anymore?

Barely. I'm a gen-x'er, and do remember at 5th grade, we learned about all 50 states, 7/8 grades the constitution/dec of independence, and in HS deep American history from peoples coming over the Bering Straight to our founding, up to the Vietnam War.
About 7 years ago, my oldest, in HS history class, was given a one sheet of things they needed to know for the Constitution. I quizzed her. Turns out they don't spend more than 2 class periods on it. And, on the sheet given to her, it stated, "The Bill of Rights (1st 10 amendments) are the rights granted to us by the government." For those in the know, this is 100% WRONG. These were the rights WE THE PEOPLE have, that the government CAN NOT TAKE AWAY. Needless to say, I overreacted at the time...I spent an hour cooling down and pulling my own personal copy of the constitution, which contained notes from the Federalist Papers. In short, I had not 1, but several conversations with the teacher. He was a nice young fellow, who learned it as he taught it. He asked me where I came up with my information. Can you believe, a HISTORY TEACHER, who's focus is AMERICAN HISTORY, did not know about the Federalist Papers, where James Madison and other founders gave intimate details as to what each amendment means, and more.
Anyway, I am glad you are doing this. I still struggle to ensure my kids are taught the basics....which includes, for me, true American history.

CK, well done. Thank you for taking the time to educate the history teacher.

Thanks for the reminder, I bought 200 of these when Hilary was running for president, gave most them to my firearms customers at the pawnshop and some at classes at the shooting range. Have a few left, time to get them into peoples hands. They are complete, pocket size.

I'd like to send a few of them to a couple of Justices on the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the SCOTUS. Not that some would read it.
