I've got to stop buying knives at night! Somebody stop me! I just ordered this beauty. Should be here next week. Will be my 4th Boker and 3rd Solingen. This is a limited edition with damasteel blade and 5500 year old bog oak scales.

Other than the pain to your wallet, I would say that wasn’t a bad decision. It’s hard to resist these Damascus Boker knives. But man the price has really gotten crazy on those.

Love the Solingen Boker's. Looks like a solid knife. You'll have to post some pictures after it arrives.

The oversized presentation case seems dumb. But this is really sweet knife! Certainly bigger and heavier than the Boker Barlow next to it.

Now that’s a beautiful knife! I’m envious.

Certainly a good looking and substantial knife. Congrats.

So I've never bought a knife I didn't intend to carry. I will rotate this one into the EDC mix. Probably get a belt pouch for it though. It's bigger than most of my others.

Agree or disagree?

That is a stunning knife. I particularly like the Damascus and the wood. Congratulations! ::tu::

I’m one of those guys that hates to use a new knife so I would disagree. I know folks who believe in using every knife they buy, but I don’t understand why? I am trying to reduce the number of EDC’s that I currently have. I have plenty of knives for using, why devalue such a beautiful and expensive knife when you really don’t need to? Just my thoughts on it.

That's a legit point. Maybe less guilt for buying something and not using it? I'm gonna leave this one in the box while I consider that. Thinking I might wax it to protect it and keep the copper from tarnishing.

I believe it's meant to be displayed in full length with blade locked. That's why it's as long as it is.

I decided to not carry or use it. I will pull it out of the case and love on it from time to time like I do my guns then pass it on to my boys when I'm gone.

Think I'm gonna score this guy so carry instead of the limited edition one. Seems to be the same footprint.

I rethought purchasing the micarta version for carrying. I recognize micarta with no liners will be super light weight. However after only a few months of occasional carrying a Boker Solingen with linerless micarta scales, I think I see the smallest crack forming around the center pivot pin. Not sure. but I would think there alot of stress at that point of a slip joint knife. Anyone else have similar concerns with linerless micarta on a slip joint?

Rick, I’ve had a few without liners and that was my concern too. I have sold all of them. I had two Vipers without liners and they felt pretty stout but that was weighing in the back of my mind all the time. A.G. Russell had and has several that are linerless and I have never heard of any problems with them but it does concern me. I think you should trust your gut on this.
