I do not know enough to spot every fake from across the room, but I can definitely tell a new blade that has a shaved tang. Sadly, 33 people have bid on it so far.

I think the whole thing is a fake. No Union Cut Co dog ever looked like that.

When you look at the bid history, there are 33 bids so far, but only 6 bidders, so, sadly, there are 6 fools bidding against each other. I think a lot of knives that come out of the "Nashville Flea Market" are fakes. ::teary_eyes::

On top of everything else I don't think I've ever seen one with a long pull, especially a funky one like that. All I've seen have had nail nicks.

You're correct Eric, Union used dentate crescent pulls. The bone handles are poorly hafted and way too thick, whole knife is a fake, has nothing to do with a shaved tang. Herb, agreed, the seller puts a lot of fakes up for auction, but he is in TN, the fake and cobbled knife capital.

Nashville Flea Market is a cover name for more than one ebay seller...They use this title rather than their legit names so as to not taint there regular ebay usernames.
