All About Pocket Knives

Hello All,
There doesn't seem to be much online info on this particular Schrade with the fork and separating handles. I'm curious if I'm missing some sort of lock that keeps the handles together when in normal use as a knife? They slide apart too easily, gravity alone is enough to separate. Just a weak/curious design?

I have a VERY similar knife and fork combo set (NOT SCHRADE). With mine, both the knife and fork fold open and closed.
If ONLY the knife is open, both knife AND fork stay joined or connected. But, no matter if the knife is open OR closed, when the fork is opened, then both the knife and fork can be separated. The fork is the "key" to "locking" and "unlocking" OR separating from the knife. At least on mine it's the "key." I don't know if this helps.

Thanks very much for your time and help. Although it seems backwards to me, the unopened blade rather than the fork works as the locking key on this one. Nice to know nothing is broken or missing.

First one I've seen with wood handles. Is that a re-handle or did they make them that way? I'm not as familiar with the George Schrade knives as I am with the Schrade Cut Co/Imperial Schrade knives.

I've had this knife forever. I think I had asked Rich about it, who thought it was a re-cover, but now seeing more than one in this style, I have to think it was a regular offering. I do not think mine comes apart...
