I believe that patent was for the linerlock, which was granted in 1906. Not sure when the linerlock version of the King of the Woods started showing up. Beautiful example there!

they made a 19 a 29 and a 39 and came in bone stag and wood ~ had a 39 once and was one of my favorites ~ 1906 is correct ~ The Cattaraugus liner locking patent, 825,093 was issued on July 3, 1906

Cattaraugus's Slogan was ~ The Better-Quality Knife ~ this statement was true on some of their knives ~ these three in particular at the time ~ solid knives and thick springs made these blades snap like beartraps. ~ walk and talk and half stops all solid ~

This is from an Old Cattaraugus catalog and shows the 3 coke bottle patterns. There is also a Yukon King of the Woods.

Nostalgic and worth having advertisement's I would say ~ Really like the Block Printing Type's found in Levine's Guides to Knives ~ Yukon is a great one to acquire whenever you're fortunate enough to find one ~ I've been very fond of this Yukon Cattaraugus since first seeing it ~ sure it is on everyone's last to ever sell list ~

Nice! Does the compass work? In my experience very few of the Cattaraugus compasses survived in workin order.

How many Cattaraugus wood handled knives had a straight line tang stamps? This has to be very old?

Something about laying a compass on metal that does not work. I have heard you take the compass to use it.

How about this one? Looks like some one bought this knife and wanted a compass in it. Didn’t work! Never sharpened or used.
