Beecher Knife Co. - Any Info?

Just picked up this interesting penknife. BEECHER KNIFE CO tang stamp on the large blade.
PAT'D 4 - 20 15 on the small blade.
Whenever I see patent info on a knife, it immediately makes me wonder - what was the patent for? Is there an unusual feature on the knife or relating to its construction?
The thing that is unusual on this one is the small glade - not the almost "Wharncliffe" shape and the blunted tip.
Upon close examination, it appears that the small blade was made with a special "safety" tip - the small blade overall resembles the type of blade sometimes included on modern knives as a blade to cut seat belts.
Anyone ever seen or heard of Beecher Knife Co?

Steve, let me know if this works. If not, I'll try to figure out some other way to send it to you.
Best regards. Herb
