4 blade stockman most recent find

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Cool! 8)

I'm not sure if it's technically a stockman but if the frame was usually used to assemble three blade stockmans then I guess it is. Nice bone.

That's an interesting knife. ::tu::
Is the blade on the butt-end of the knife a punch/awl? I can't see a concave side to it in the picture.

Yes it is the Union Cutlery proprietary punch blade. It isn't very concave like most, one side is convex with more of a chisel grind and one side is flat.

Yes, it fits all the criteria to be called a "4-blade stockman":
Serpentine frame, Clip main with a spey secondary. The punch blade threw me off at first, as it has the basic shape of a punch, but it is designed differently from most. I just have not seen many like it.
That is a beautiful knife!

It's a beauty Dan! What is the closed length? Definitely a stockman, folks who haven't seen a four blade one just need to get out more often.

Dandy Dan. :)

Back when I was working I would have loved to have a stockman like this to carry , although I would be foolish to carry this premium knife. The big stockman were my favorite carry.

That is a great find, I wish I had more than the one I have, the Kutmaster shown below. Picked it up for a few bucks because the handle material was bad. Redid it with stag. Just wondering how many of the well known companies actually ever made a 4 blade stock knife?

I have two Cattaraugus four blade cattle knives, one bone and one swirled pearl celluloid. Have them in pictures but can’t get them to come on this post. We are in Florida or I would take new pictures.
