Let's Try Again: Schrade LR7

I saw an older thread on this but it doesn't seem to have much activity. Someone said there is no such thing as a Schrade LR 7, but I have one, and it is identical to another I had seen posted on AAPK.

It has a 6 digit serial number and is definitely stamped LR7, not LB7, and though the knife was stored in a trailer for decades to the point where the nice leather sheath had actually succumbed to some really smelly bacteria, the knife itself is in fine condition. Scales look like Brazilian Rosewood, and one side is badly stained from contact with the deteriorated sheath. Anyone have any idea if this is worth anything?

Thanks for any info . . . !

Just a defective stamp. The other one we see in the thousands is a 84OT, which, of course, is really a 34OT. This is my opinion. I have watched the Schrades closely for 17 years and I have never heard of your stamp before. If it looks, smells and tastes like an LB7 I think that is what it is.

I agree with Cal, the tang stamp die was missing a little chunk of metal on the B making it appear to be an R. If you look closely you can see what would be the "right leg" of the R is curved not straight. That's because it's a B with the bottom of the letter missing due to a damaged stamping die.

Laid to Rest!! You are absolutely right!! I took a "macro" picture and you can easily see that it was stamped with a broken "B" stamp.
Check out the attached picture. There is no doubt that this is an LB 7. Thank you!!!!

I’ve been tracking down Uh’s for a while. Are you saying I need to be looking for a “Lock Rack 7” now. Ugh. Here are the 3 stamps I thought covered the bases. Also a pic of my DP.

No worries Jay, there were no Lock Racks made. Sounds like something you'd find in a gun store. ::tu::

Great collection!!!!
