All About Pocket Knives

Recently became custodian of my dad's knife collection and hoping to gain some information about some of them that my dad can't remember. Haven't gone through the entire collection but so far here is my favorite that he does remember was one of his working knives from many years ago. I'm wondering how many years ago that might of been and he isn't real certain himself. Perhaps there is a way to narrow down when this might have been produced?

Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings shows that tang stamp as having been used from approximately 1951-1978.

It appears to me that the blade pin has been replaced at some point. I bet that one could tell some tales if knives could talk.

Thanks, I did find some useful info there. Think I will do a light cleaning of this knife and see what secrets it might reveal.

Thanks, that seems to verify his recollection of buying it in the early to mid-50s while he was working in Wyoming on a crew installing electrical highlines. I should give the knife a mild cleaning and see if it reveals any of it's secrets.
