Big Queen Disappointment

I love Queen knives and I was very excited about my purchase of this knife from SMKW. However, this was a terrible example of a Queen Factory Sample Buffalo Horn Lockback. Gaps between spring/back of knife and pile side/scales. Spring out of alignment with blade. Blade was not sharpened; I could press down on my fingertip w/o fear of cutting my skin. Blade was loose with wobble. I had to return it. I never like returning an item, but I had no choice here.

You can see the light and paper under the knife through the gaps in the piles/scales....

Amazing they would try to sell something like that.

I would bet that knife was never sold until the Queen bankruptcy sale. There were many, many knives and parts sold and lots have hit the market since. There were some good knives and all sorts of lemons. I THINK THE LOT OF EM SHOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED, not sold to fast buck artists.

Especially since they tout (on their YouTube channel) that no knife leaves SMKW without a thorough inspection. At least they do have a good return policy and GSPTOPDOG wasn't "stuck" with that POS.

That is a huge disappointment. Not the first time I’ve seen a problem with that particular pattern though. Had a Moore Maker with similar issues and another one along the way that had some of those issues but not that bad. Glad you could send it back. I hate returns but something’s are just too much to overlook.

They did back up their claim about easy returns, so, that was good

.... but it did take about 30 days to get my money back on the credit card....

I understand that Queen closed its factory in 2018 could it be that that knife is made elsewhere?
