2024 AAPK Club Knife Information

Post by Bryan »

We’re excited to announce that pre-orders for AAPK’s 2024 Club Knife are now open! For the first five days, pre-orders will be exclusive to premium subscribing members. After this period, they will be available to non-premium members for an additional five days, if our allocation is not overextended.

All premium subscribers should have received an email with instructions and a link to place your pre-order. If you didn’t receive the email, you can find all the details and place your pre-order here: 2024 Club Knife Pre-Order.

Our new pre-order system is designed to help us better gauge demand and ensure more members have the opportunity to secure the knives they want. In the past, we offered a limited run of about 100 knives, which often left some members empty-handed. This year, we have the option to double that number to meet demand, with a cap of 200 knives from GEC. We’re still giving premium subscribers the first opportunity to order, especially in case demand exceeds our expectations.

We’re also pleased to share a leadership change for the Club Knife project. I've asked fellow AAPK Administrator Tom (bestgear) Cosgrove to take over the coordination of the club knives, and he has enthusiastically accepted. Since August, Tom has been hard at work, and his efforts have already made a significant impact.

With Tom leading the charge, I can now dedicate more time to enhancing our website’s infrastructure and advancing new software projects that I hope will bring exciting features and improvements to our community.

Thank you for your continued support, and please stay tuned for more updates on the 2024 Club Knife!

Please feel free to post any questions you might have here as well.

Best regards,
Bryan

Thanks Bryan and Tom for pulling together a forum knife again this year. The GEC 93 is a great pattern, can’t wait to see the finished product.

As mentioned above and no doubt countless times to come, thanks Bryan and Tom for their work so far and good luck with the graft ahead

Can I asked if international shipping is an option? I apologise if I have missed this in either this thread or the linked pre-order.

Good Morning and Happy Labor Day everyone! Bryan and I are both very thankful for the kind comments that have been posted and for the success of the pre-order system. :)

This is just a quick pre-order status update. If you are a premium subscriber and want to order a second knife but didn't the first time, you can do so now by logging into AAPK using your premium subscription ID and ordering a 2nd knife.

If you are a non-US premium subscriber and want to place a pre-order, please contact me directly via PM and I will be standing by to service those requests.

you could have ordered 2 knives when you ordered the first and shipping would have been combined but a second order unfortunately will generate a second shipping fee - our checkout system isn’t sophisticated enough to recognize that a previous order was placed. The good news is that if you place a second order it will be shipped together with the first order and properly insured for the increased value.

Amazing job on getting the 93s and can't wait to see what the covers will be. Thanks a ton for letting us get one, and for letting us avoid the sell-out-in-5-seconds trip of normal GEC products. Thanks for all the work you do and thanks for allowing us to be part of this experience. You don't know how much we value the job you do and all it benefits us and what an amazing service you give. My hat is off and my heart soars with the eagles today thinking about the blessings AAPK has been to me. It's all about my blade brothers and sisters first, the administrators and great people serving each other, the comradery, and then the privilege of being able to participate in things like this and comment on the great pics and info. I'm humbled at all that is provided freely here and given to our fellow members. Thanks, thanks, thanks and more thanks. And excellent pattern and design. Above and beyond the call of duty or the expectation. May it all continue on and keep blessing the knife world and enthusiasts. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Thank you Ivoryman. We are now on day 4 of our pre-order sale and we still have a few knives available for purchase. In this modern era of "drops" and "reveals", that's amazing.

I know I speak for many when I say that I could not have made the emotional or time commitment to our hobby or AAPK without the support of my family. In my case, my wife Cathy is not a pocket knife enthusiast but she knows that when I get that look in my eye, it's either going to be expensive or she's going to play second fiddle for the time being. Were it not for the friendships made at AAPK and the inner peace I feel in my heart, I'd be alone with my pocket knives. But AAPK changed all of that and pocket knives are simply the glue that holds us all together. I hope I never stop having that look in my eye. ::handshake::

My crystal ball tells me that today may be the day that we sell out of this years knife.

If you are logged in as a premium subscriber, then you are allowed to pre-order a maximum of two (2) knives. If you have already ordered 1 knife and wished you had ordered a second, now is the time to do so.

If you are not logged in or not a premium subscriber, then you are allowed to pre-order a maximum of one (1) knife. If you haven’t already pre-ordered a 20th anniversary knife and want to, now is the time to do so.

Our software controlling the checkout process will change your pre-order quantity based on the above criteria.

I spoke to GEC this morning and if everything goes according to plan, you will have your package delivered before Thanksgiving, well in advance of the big gift giving holidays that follow.

Peace ::handshake::

that was very smart of you Scott - right now only 2 remain available for sale - where else can you get a private label US made knife for $125?

Thank you to the 135 premium subscribers and registered members of AAPK who supported this year's club knife sale. The quantity of knives allocated by GEC has been reached and we are now sold out (90 hours after the 1st pre-order) ::tu::

ditto - packing slips are printed, boxes are assembled, just waiting on knives and they’ll be on their way - patience is a virtue I’m told ::hmm::

I’m not that bad. As long as it’s here by Christmas I’ll be happy. 😃

Thanks to everyone who had a part in this process.
