I'm not ashamed to say that I couldn't wait to see kingwood first hand so I pulled the trigger on this little gem:

I am certainly not disappointed.
Wow Tom ... the kingwood gives that knife a real solid look and great appearance! That is an awesome knife!
I took a peek at others from your posted link. Now the anticipation is building ... getting close to Thanksgiving!

O man , how did i miss this !
James - Please reply to one of the many emails and Private Messages (PM's) that have been sent over the past 2 months. Without your input I cannot process your desire for a knife. I will only reserve a knife for you for so long before I make it available to another member so please contact me ASAP! I see you were last active on Saturday November 2nd at 11:14 am so I'm not quite sure why you aren't responding.
If anyone has a way of contacting cbnutt other than his Yahoo email and AAPK PM's, please let me know or let James know that I'm trying to reach him.

This morning I spoke to Joan Howard at GEC and our knives are cut and making their way to the second floor assembly room. Since our knives are Special Factory Allocation knives, they will not appear on the published production schedule or production photographs so there's no publicly available way of seeing our knives come to life
I'm hoping to get all of the knives on or about November 25th and fulfill and mail the 140+ orders before Thanksgiving. This would have the large majority of the orders arriving the 1st week of December and International orders arriving shortly after that. When I know the actual dates, I will publish them here.
Thanks for your patience everyone, my first communication with GEC was in April so it's been a long time coming for me too

I always thought the cocobolo 93s from the original run were the pick of the litter. Super excited to get this in hand. Thanks for all your work getting this put together.

I would think, from a marketing perspective, GEC would want to publicize everything they're making, kind of like, "Hey, look what we can do."
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

my pleasure Scott, thankfully my OCD keeps it all organized and orderly which means check, double-check and triple-check each order. But you know as a regular shipper, take 1 at a time and keep plowing forward.

I am excited about the kingwood handles! I have rehandled knives with kingwood before. It is beautiful, quite hard, and has a high oil content in the wood.
I think it's an excellent choice for this year's knife!
<<BRIEF UPDATE >> As you know, I was aiming for receiving our knives and getting them shipped before Thanksgiving but I learned late last week that GEC experienced a failure on their machinery that puts a mirror polish in the blades which is customary with the Northfield line. I had the option to accept the knives with a matte finish on-time but I opted to wait until their machinery was repaired. I felt that maintaining the Northfield standard that Bryan had established from the beginning with GEC outweighed staying on schedule.
My new schedule is to have them all shipped by the 6th of December and arriving at your homes the week of December 9th-13th. I'm sorry for the delay but with handmade knives, delays are a part of the game. As I learn more, I will post updates here in the forum thread. Thanks for your continued support and patience.
I also wanted to share the Christmas card that GEC sent to me on behalf of AAPK:
