HUDSON KNIFE Co.

Post by Ridgegrass »

Levine rates Hudson Knife Co., Germany, as "Low" value. Here's a really nice Hudson, 2-1/2", whittler with genuine tortoise covers. The quality is certainly not low. c.1927

Surely doesn't appear to be "low quality" in the pictures.

Does BRL say low quality, or low collectibility?

Dale, It says "L" under his column called "$". Guessing that's price/value? Houston Price said their knives were worth $20-65 in his 1991 "Guide". I don't put much stock in those things anyway, they're just amusing. Value is always negotiable for me. O'.

Cool find, J.O'! A classic example of German makers trying to mimic American knife makers for a bigger slice of pie. As for value, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. ::nod::
