Hi from the Eastern Panhandle of WV

Post by PringleTree »

Hi everyone! I just started collecting pocket knives this past spring, although I've always carried one. I edc'd a Victorinox SAK Pioneer from when I purchased it in an Albuquerque shop in 1977 until I retired it this summer. Recently, I've just been rotating some of the vintage and new knives that I've picked up this year. Been collecting mostly mid-century American-made knives, nothing fancy or rare. I just like knives that I know have a history to them, even if I don't know what it is. I've just recently picked up my first two Buck 112s, which I will post in the Buck forum.

Welcome to AAPK!
I spent several days up in Romney WV for work about 10 years ago. That was a lovely area, and the folks there made this Alabama boy feel right at home.
I hope you feel just as welcome here at AAPK!

Welcome aboard!
Dad was born in Wheeling, grew up in Weirton.
He joined the Air Force, which is why I was born in Maine.
I joined the Air Force, which is why I'm in New Jersey.
Take care and God bless,

Thanks, everybody, for the warm welcome--much appreciated. Reverand, my mother's mother and her family were from Pike County, Alabama. Steve, my Dad was Air Force from 1950-55. My grandfather (mother's stepfather) was career Army Air Corps and Air Force. My Dad was assigned to Manston AFB in England, where my grandfather was also stationed. My mother was a senior at the American military dependents high school when she met my father at a dance on the base. Redrider, seems like most of Northern VA is intent on relocating here in Jefferson County (lol). Dave, visiting MN and that region is definitely on my bucket list.

I could be one in a couple years, or maybe Shepherdstown or Harper's Ferry. ::nod::
