Buck 503

I picked up this 503 at a flea market over the weekend. As far as age goes, I believe it predates 1985-86 or thereabouts? As you can see, someone reshaped the blade, but I don't have a problem with it.
Thanks for looking.
Chris

Nice find indeed. The 503 is one my favorite Buck models. Big enough for most tasks yet small enough to be unobtrusive.

Thanks, Rick. Yep, I really like the size and the pocket fit. BTW, I'm sending that 1988 112 (my first Buck) off tomorrow for SPA treatment. Going to keep the original blade, though. This 503 is my third Buck. My late mother would always say once you have three of something, you have a collection.

Excellent! Looking forward to your “after” pictures in a few weeks if time permits.
Your interest in older Bucks has put me in the mood to look for another beat up 112 and send it to the Spa just for the fun of it. It’s been a few years since I’ve done that and I feel like I’m about due.
Thanks for sharing your finds.

Don't think your blade was so much re-shaped as it was used hard and sharpened a lot.

Hi TG, yes, I agree. "Re-shaped" (as in intentional) was not the term to use. I think the shape is probably a by-product of a lot of use.
