What is the overall length closed and are the bolsters steel or nickle silver? Could be a R163.

My knife is 3 3/8” long, closed. I do not know how to tell the difference between nickle silver or steel. Using a magnet, the back of the knife has stronger magnetic pull than the bolsters. Thanks for your help.

That stamp dates to 1935-1939. It was one of the last stamps Remington used before the cutlery business was sold to PAL Cutlery. Bolsters are typically nickel silver, springs and blades are steel. The frame/liners usually brass or nickel silver.
