Camillus 3-Line
Newest piece and first of the New Year, absolutely love this knife and quite happy to own. I don’t own many knives and yet has to be one of my top few that are my favorite.

That is a special knife! Circa 1916, Camillus knives with that etch on them are rare. David Anthony said mine was etched in modern times and not original but he knows not what he says. Great example!!

Thank you for the awesome comment, and what I been told by Greg Cobb as well. May I ask to see your example if its allowed so I can see the difference?

Re: Camillus 3-Line
Sadly I sold mine last summer and cannot find photos of it in my library. I sold it to my friend Barry (1fartsmella here), hopefully he will read this thread and put a photo or two in here. Mine was a trapper model with the same tang stamps and perfect etch. I have only seen maybe five with that etch.

Very nice Barry ! Thanks for posting.
Would be nice to have one like that. This one here is well worn but you can still see and feel the etch .

Re: Camillus 3-Line
With all due respect I still stand by my original comment. I conferred with Levine on this subject and he explained it to me. That would explain the very limited amount you find out there. But it is a very nice knife and I’d be proud to own one too

Re: Camillus 3-Line
As far as Camillus etches are concerned, I have a few with etches. I'm posting two of them here, one is identical with the half trappers show above and with the same etch, the other is a moose with a "Ranchero" etch on one blade and a "Sword Brand" etch on the other, You will probably need to enlarge the trappers picture to see the etch, it is not all legible. (the trapper has the curved Camillus stamp on the secondary):

Those are 2 great knives! That “ Ranchero” moose is top notch. Can’t be too many of them out there .msteele6 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 4:03 pm As far as Camillus etches are concerned, I have a few with etches. Re: Camillus 3-Line
Ripster, it's the only one I've ever seen and very unusual to see any old Camillus with an etch, the moose, with two etches is probably pretty rare.
