All About Pocket Knives

hello,
i would just like to thank everyone in this forum for their wonderful behavior.
i have been 'online' for several years, and visited many forums, with rather nasty results.
unlike many of these forums, where the 'experts' tend to insult and demean the new participants, this forum has been wonderful.
i may not be an expert in the knife field, but have been an antique dealer, a jeweler, and a mechanic for most of my life. this tends to give one the ability to identify a good piece of steel from garbage.
not one person on this forum has shown the slightest tendency to insult or demean another person...i have a zero tolerance for bs....i don't give s*** i don't take s***, i am not in the s*** business.

I'll second that, not been here long myself and have nothing but praise for the older hands, a little help and encouragement goes a long way, the good humor and friendly atmosphere keeps me coming back for more.

I hope I don't embarrass the guy, but I want to give a special mention to s-k, he stumbled across me on a UK site when I first started collecting, I was so pleased to meet someone who Knew what he was talking about, the knowledge and guidance he passed on to me was priceless, and it was he who recommended that I join AAPK. He said I would enjoy it, and as usual he was spot on!

Really glad to hear that gringo, that's what this site is all about. Common courtesy and attention to everyone no matter the level of collecting. It's still everybody's hobby at the end of the day.

Gringo, This site has really the best bunch of knifers you could find. There are no dumb questions asked here and everyone is welcome and treated with respect whether they are new or old at collecting. I didn't get started in knives until Dec. 2006 and at that time I didn't know one knife from another. Since then, I have learned a lot of things from these guys that you just can't pick up from a book. Many of them have knowledge of so many brands of knives that it is incredible.

But then I come from that school of hard knocks. ..

and some of us old man learn better that way.
