All About Pocket Knives

I picked this Buck 120 up at the local gun show. It has red spacers at each end of what looks like stag to me. Is this something that was done by Buck or did another maker put the stag handle on? Nothing is marked as a custom shop knife. No box, no paperwork. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nothing about it says it was done by Buck to me. I think it was customized after it left the factory. I’ve never seen a Buck with that guard, pommel or spacers before.

That doesn’t take away from its beauty. Great find.

I agree with what has been said: Buch should make a 120 variant like this. It is beautiful!

Buck has made stag variants in all or nearly all of their fixed blade patterns, and many folding patterns. This 120 is rather plain but nicer in the hand than in my crude scan.

It is an artifact of the scanner that I see when trying to get an image of mirror bright metal.

I would call it one of Buck's too long hunting knives that, for a project, a prior owner turned into a Bowie knife. There is a sand bar in front of my house. While I'm unlikely to get into a Jim Bowie style fight out on the sandbar It would still be cool to own.
