FedEx/USPS Shipping Scam

So From a sale on eBay.....I have options for shipping.
Usually when I see the FedEx is less I choose that and come to find out it also is handled by USPS.
I was confused......why 2 companies felt the need to get in on the action but nothing it right in today's world.
Well, it happened.....my package got lost.
I submitted the tracking number shown on eBay on FedEx and what does it reply:
We're sorry, USPS is handling this delivery.
Submit the same number on USPS and what to they reply:
We're sorry this is an invalid tracking number.
Unreal.

In some cases, FedEx packages, particularly those shipped via FedEx SmartPost, are delivered locally by USPS, where FedEx handles the initial transport to a local post office, and USPS then completes the "last mile" delivery.
To track a package delivered in this manner, you'll need to use both the FedEx and USPS tracking systems.
FedEx Tracking:
- Use the FedEx tracking number to track the package until it's handed over to USPS.
- USPS Tracking: If you have a USPS tracking number (provided by the sender
or in the FedEx tracking details), use that number to track the package within the USPS system.
I agree, unreal!

FedEx needs to get their stuff together. The bosses insulin ships in a insulated box with ice packs around it, so she gets online it's to be delivered that day before 8pm.,doesn't show. Next day she checks, it says it's out for delivery before 2 pm.,never shows, it finally show up the next day, ice packs completely unthawed temperature of the insulin is 71 degrees , it is never supposed to ever get above 46 degrees during shipping. I tell the young man that it's probably ruined and this was unacceptable, he smiles and says they had trouble with a new man on the route. I don't care about that I want my package when it's supposed to be there.
We have to jump through hoops to get the new insulin and hope it shows up in time. FedEx
