All About Pocket Knives

I rescued this piece from an antique mall. Looks like someone let their 8 year old sharpen it on the grinder. I read that the screws in the scales were done in the earlier years of the company. Can anyone tell me what years miller stopped using the screws in scales? Date on this knife? Also, any other info on this piece or the company history is welcome. Thanks

Sorry I can’t answer your question. Maybe one of the Miller Bros collectors knows. Looks like the blade is significantly short, and I’m curious why it has two screws in the covers on the pile side but one screw and a pin on the mark side. Apparently more has been done to it than just sharpening?

I guess it’s possible the slot in one screw has worn away, but if so it’s a new one on me.

Looks like that pin may have been added after the fact...I see a handle crack there at that pin, so it's likely that the screw was lost or snapped off and replaced with a pin.
