Started off the day smelting range lead into ingots for future use. Since the forge was fired up made this primitive push dagger. Blade forged from square stock.

Oh that is cool RKJ...indeed a great project. Nothing like a great Saturday afternoon and you say to yourself, "well I'm finished with those pesky range lead ingots, what's next? Hey, how about we hammer out a world class push dagger... the forge is already hot, and I have this old piece of antler. By golly let's do this!"

lol. Thanks appreciate the kind words. Sorta close to the story. Not sure about the “world class” that’s pretty nice compliment.

Well I think it is
Actually, I have an affinity with push daggers. My dad had a news paper article from New York from 1900 that advised citizens to avoid all Eastern European immigrants, particularly the Polish, as they were known to be armed with push daggers and couldn't be trusted. That's when my family arrived. The game would be for me to ask if I could have one, and he would reply "can you be trusted?" Times haven't changed, only the nationalities.

Great story! I’ll probably put this one out for sale at the next gunshow in the fall.

Oh good deal.
OK - so this is not the same article as I spoke of, but it implies the same message. I found this one later in life that validated my Dad's clip. Print this and have it with the dagger and tell your prospecive buyers "Knife Approved by Lars, authentic Pole". LoL! Bet it sells then....

They just had the Polish days festival at North Loup Ne. Last weekend. Not too far from where I live. Apparently a trust worthy bunch, no knifings that I know of.

Dude - not funny. That guy owes me twenty bucks!
Actually, I love it. You can share Polish jokes with me all day long. My people survived two world wars, Soviet occupation, and McDonalds hamburgers. We know how to laugh! Thanks for sharing it.
