Sent two 112's to Buck for a spa treatment. They really spit shined them.
There were some really heavy scratches in the bolsters of the auto because it works for a living.
But I wasn't expecting them to take a 1/4 inch off the blade length!!
That blade was not damaged or tipped in any way that would require this much removal.
It was simply dull. It's plenty sharp now, but why so much stock removed???

I’d call em. Just now checked warranty page and that blade is not eligible for replacement. Wondering why?

It looks like a recent trade school graduate got your work order - problem is he was trained to be an electrician
Here’s a 112 Elite Auto blade profile from Buck’s website, it looks like they took the belly out of the swedge which shortened the blade

why they would do that is beyond me - I’d sent it back and gently complain that you don’t like tanto blades.

I'd be curious to see the "Before" did you grab pics before sending? Its just a curiosity on any factors that would have lead them to attack your blade like that, or maybe they just gouged it during work and didn't have a choice, which I'd hope they would cover for you.

@royal0015l4...are you sure that is the same knife you sent them? Could it be a mixup?
I really like Buck, a lot, and generally have had good experience. However, my son sent in his BOTM because a screw was way proud and crooked. Buck sent it back but had not fixed the problem. The knife was sent back again, and Buck lost it. This back and forth went nearly 6 months. Buck issued a refund because it was a BOTM and no more were available.
I bought a Danny Peretti limited edition Buck with mammoth ivory that had a poor cover connection. Because it was a very limited run, and based on my son's experience, I elected to not send the knife back for repair due to the chance of not getting it back.
So Buck is mostly a very good company with very good people. But sometimes things go wrong despite the best intentions. I'm still buying Buck, but am a bit leary of limited editions and BOTMs.

That is obviously a far cry from the original shape. They could have at least included a note with some kind of explanation.
