NOS Colonial liquidation auction

Colonial Knife was incorporated in 1926 by three brothers; Antonio, Domenic, & Fredrick Paolantonio. It grew to become one of the largest pocket knife manufacturers in the US during the 1960s. The company shut down in 1998, but was back into production under the Colonial Cutlery International Corporation in 2001. Colonial Cutlery International, Inc. brand is the imported line of knives and tools while the U.S.A.- made products fall under the Colonial Knife brand.

NOS Colonial liquidation auction

Post by SwedgeHead »

I tripped across one set and took a look at the other offerings, sell off from old factory stock.
Maybe it's one of you ?

I couldn't resist picking up a lot (or 6) and see they are still listing more daily, in case you are interested.

These are the ones I snagged, hard to go wrong at the prices. I am curious on the Barlows, as they aren't Barlow pstyle but rather have a Barlow Stainless USA Tang stamp.

I came across this and had a 5 pack of lockbacks on my watch list. Got enough gumption to buy them, went and checked, and they were sold. Bummer dude.

That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend. ::tu::

Might have been me if they are above and if so sorry bout that.
I was curious if they would be swept up on me too as I was checking out even.
Did I need 35 new knives or blades, probably not, but it should be fun.
The Ranger LBs and the Red Ryder blades I look forward too, the rest may be gifts over time or maybe I'll make a pyramid. ::ds::

I wanted to ask the seller if they were an AAPK member, with a collection of this NOS stuff like that.

Check back, seems to be listing new batches of most items pretty frequently. Curious what the entire hoard looks like behind the scenes.

Awesome! I am now the soon-to-be proud owner of 5 bright red NOS lockbacks. Won't sit around too long waiting this time. Thanks for the heads up.

Funny, I asked the seller if they had any loose bails in the stash too.
Also I'm seeing the individual knives going up for auction by other sellers who are breaking up the bundles, like all the orange forest masters and camp knives, all without bails and the Red lockbacks. Guess that's the name of the game though ::super_happy::

I guess I’ll go to ACE and see if they have wire I could beat into a bail.

Some reference for bails in here:
https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... hp?t=78077

I was looking at round stock, but it mentioned silver-nickel (or even stainless) "rings" and I realized I have a handful that might work great already.
And then I saw a pile of old fishing reels and thought maybe the bails on those might be good working material -- if I look around there are probably a hundred pieces I wouldn't have originally thought of now.
Will get the knives today and start playing.

And then a ref to a site where they are $1.50+ tx/shipping each if it helps.
Too bad they don't just offer diameter dimensions, I bought a set some time back that were tiny and mostly useless, maybe their Large size is the ticket.

Anyway -- info.

Orange forest masters came today. Very stiff joints most smaller blades don’t close on their own. Guess you get what you pay for.
They will make nice prizes for my RC racing buddies. They don’t give a hoot about knives.
