Does this knife have the Swindle system?

Yes; it does. I don't know, Harold; we need to see the pic. Is it celluloid? delrin? Tang stamps, etc. The research tab at the top of this page suggests that the 293Y began its life in 1964, which would indicate Swinden pin construction. If there are through pins you should be able to see them in the right light.
