All About Pocket Knives

Did a little forging on this hay rake tine added an antler and poof neck knife. Then made up a sheath. Course had to carve something on the antler too cause why not! So bird on the antler and bird and wing on sheath to match. Fun project.

That is awesome! What did the tine look like prior? You did an excellent job with the knife, sheath and carving.

Did you use the business end of the tine for the hidden tang?

If you have ever seen the old dump rakes used for haying it was a tine off one of those. They are fairly long and curved I just take out a small section and forge the round tine into a blade. In this case the round part where it goes into the handle is what size the tine was originally. Thanks for the kind words too

First off Thank you! In this case no i did not. These old hay rake tines are flattened and have a point but I tend to avoid that end cause ive had some stress cracks when forging. So in this case nope the business end is not for the hidden tang.
