Custom Birthday Knife

My oldest son, Brian turned 50 today! ::ds::
He is an avid camper ... the old school roughing it camping, so I made him a light duty camp knife with a farrier's rasp.
This one is made differently from the other rasp knife I posted.
- Hollow ground (my first attempt), with good thickness behind the cutting edge for processing wood, etc.
- Desert Ironwood with brass pins
- 7 3/4" OAL ... 3 1/2" cutting edge
- My first fold over style sheath

I did some chopping, feather sticking, and light batoning with it, and it performed well.
My edge geometry is still a work in progress though, along with some fit and finish issues.
Thanks for l@@king!

The edge geometry and grinds look precise from where I'm sitting. The distal taper, from what I hear, can be tough to get right, but that also appears to be in order.

Thanks Zach! ::handshake:: I am happy with the grind, but think the edge should have been more even / consistent. I am my worst critic.
I will be ordering some new supplies soon, including some 1084 spikes, of which your knife will be made from.
They will make a useable knife vs the mild carbon spikes.

Appreciate the feedback 'Q'! ::handshake:: I like the look of the Ironwood also, and it wasn't bad to work with either.
