All About Pocket Knives

I have these two knives I believe military paratrooper paratrooper knives. Any information and value would be greatly be appreciated thanks

to AAPK, if I haven't said so already.

The top knife is a Colonial, and definitely not military as Chris stated. The bottom knife did have a military version, but I don't think this is the one and am pretty sure it's the civilian version. I have one like it and looked it up, once upon a time. Cool switches though, thanks for posting.

Well thank you wasn’t sure so this is why I asked so I can list them foe sale what do you believe the true vale is not the lowball offers I got from a guy on eBay before they made me remove them

These typically sell for around 100 to 150 each depending on condition

Thank you very much as you can see in the pictures the geo Schrade has black stains on the blade but snaps open nicely the the brown knife has cleaner blade but only pops open about 1/2 way. Thanks very much much

Is the brown colonial called a fat Jack this is how raw it opens from closed to open when pushing the button

The colonial opens about 3/4 here is a few pictures the handles have no cracks or chips the marble design looks like it has cracks but just the design .i think they call this a fat jack

Yes, a fat jack, i little oil would help with that blade opening.

Do you think it’s value at $150 or more in this condition. The black Geo Schrade snaps very fast it’s the. Brown colonial they only opens about 3/4 did use some wd40

I think the number i put on them is fair, these particular models are not rare. You can see sales history on them all over web. There are certain colors of the fatjack that will fetch a bit more, the other rarely sees over 2 bills. If you’re getting offers in that ballpark and selling… take it!

For the Pronto, the scales look like "salmon swirl" if my eyes are seeing the color correctly. Blade looks nice and scales have minimal shrinkage. I'd try using an office duster to blow out the WD40 and anything that might be in there with it, Try to keep the WD40 off of the scales. Once all is cleaned up, drop some QR oil around the pivot pin and blade where it meets the liners. If the spring looks like its rubbing the liners, drops some there as well. If the knife fires fully would guess value to be 125 to 150.

Looks like you got it squared away. Latama Quick Release oil is excellent. I was skeptical at first thinking oil is pretty much oil and how much of a difference could it make? Then I tried some and glad I did. Some of the old American autos are not the hardest firing. A good cleaning around the pivot pin and blade, then QR is the best approach. Also a firm grip when firing helps that energy of the spring all go towards propelling the blade.
