Relatively new to the knife collecting world been at it a couple of years, mainly interested in schrades, older the better.
Been in a few Facebook groups but new to this sight. Look forward to learning more.

Now that I have some time, after looking at your picture I’d like to learn more and see some close-ups of the knives. The tang stamps and other details are not clear enough to tell much about them. You say they’re “cut CO’s”? I’m not familiar enough with that brand to know which patterns they made. Or did you mean Schrade Cut. Co?

Several appear to have “stainless” or “stainless steel” etched on blades - it is unusual to see knives of the age these appear to be have stainless blades. Always looking to learn more about brands I don’t know much about.

Curious where/how did you take the picture? (The background looks like a painting).

The original poster is someone named Bobby somethingorother and who is active on Facebook knife forums. I don't go to Facebook. When he says CutCo he means Schrade CutCo, 1904-1946. Yes, they were making stainless steel blades in the 1930s for sure and maybe earlier. Hopefully he will spend some time here as well.

I believe the OP is Bobby Jones who was the 2023 Mississippi Catfish Farmer of the Year with over 30 years of experience and yes, very active on the vintage knife Facebook forums. Bobby!

Thanks Cal. I’m hoping he will show more of the knives. I know cutlers were making knives with stainless steel blades in the 1930s, but they’re typically seen on fishing knives and others where stainless steel was a selling feature of the knife’s application. I’m curious to learn more about other patterns having stainless blades. Queen of course was an exception - they used stainless a lot. I’m not a Schrade collector but I like them. I have a few but there’s a lot to learn for me.

Thanks for sharing that, Cal. I had not seen that catalog cut.

I can recall as a young’un hearing my elders speak derogatorily about stainless steel knives. Whether true or not, the stainless steels used in those days did not have a stellar reputation (at least with that crowd) for holding an edge.
