Hey everyone, I was at an estate sale and came across a Kabar 1185 stag 2 blade knife with jimping on the spine of the main blade. I can’t find much of anything on its history except that it was in production in maybe the 60s. If anyone can help shine some more light on when it it was produced, if the jimping was normal for this knife, if the stag looks real, or anything else I’d really appreciate it.

Thank yall!

Landon

With KABAR knives, if the stamp is broken with a hyphen, ( KA-BAR) it dates to 1953 or before. Yours has no hyphen and is probably in the 1960's-1970's era. The handles appear to be Delrin and not genuine stag. The jimping is not, as far as I am aware, a factory option. I owned and carried a similar model for a bit and found it a quality folding knife, if a bit heavy. Enjoy it!

Nice pick-up! A previous owner did the file work You might find it's easier to carry in a belt sheath.

::welcome:: to AAPK!

Definitely delrin, not stag.
File work not factory.
