Anybody else experiencing the NEW forced shipping amount where you can't change the amount
based on the weight?
$7.46 no matter the weight. At this point I've had this amount forced on me on eBay.
The first time I got it, and the second for that matter I double checked it on pitateship and the same amount
was forced on me.

Is this different than the flat rate boxes, which are a flat rate no matter the weight?

And $13.65 now--I was shocked when I went to the PO yesterday!

This may be the straw that breaks the camels back and revive the local buy. It wouldn’t surprise me if Amazon raised their Prime membership to cover the increased costs of “free” shipping. eBay is just an early adopter.

Oh yes. I was mailing a 6 x 9 inch envelope that weighed 4 ounces, which I have approx. 1 billion times.
The price was $7.69.
I double checked the price on pirateship and was shocked to find the same thing.
Usual unreal price these days is under $6.00

I guess I will find out for myself today as I have an envelope of knife parts to ship. It's been quite a while since I shipped something and was not up to date on this.

Right Scott. Just printed a label for a 4 oz package that measured 6"x4"x1" and cost was $7.69. This was through PayPal shipping which is usually a little lower.
I guess if you ship a feather in a package that is 1"x1"x1" it would be $7.69 as well.
I always try to keep shipping cost to the buyer as low as possible but low as possible just keeps getting higher.

The padded mailer I mentioned above was $8.75 for a weight of 7.5 oz.

I don't remember the exact circumstances now but about
6 months ago I sold a small Lego set. Ebay somehow forced me
to pay a ridiculous amount to ship it ( I listed item as seller
pays shipping - a mistake).... resulting in me making so little
money I would have been easier to just give it to a kid for
free walking down the street.
ebay is definitely not seller friendly. The amount they take out
for you to sell it is way to much considering they really don't
do much except provide a platform.

So Scott, because Ebay is forcing this charge, they must be taking a chunk of the shipping cost?

No sir, it's not just eBay.....Before I shipped the 3 oz item I checked pirateship.com, and the price was the same. So, I really wanted to see if those 2 shipping options were high so I took the PKG to the physical post office, and they wanted me to pay $8.60
USPS has gone off the deep end.

my local post office told me that Ground Advantage sub-pound package rates were restructured, eliminating the 4-ounce and 8-ounce pricing tiers, which has led to significant rate jumps for sub-pound shipments.
You’ll just have to sell more knives to the same customer to get those package weights up

I don't think eBay is biased towards seller or buyer. eBay is eBay friendly. They just care about their profits and whatever that entails it's all good.
