Looks like a factory unfinished knife to me. Most time when I hear "lunch box knife" I immediately think counterfeit but not in this case. Wouldn't pay that for a delrin handle Schrade with no mark.

Wayne and Scott, thanks for the replies. I was a little confused by the listing, but felt the price was out of line for that knife.

I've got several of those 77OTs and they are great knives. Been using one for many, many years, it sits on the kitchen window sill above the sink, always ready to do some tiny touch up on a piece of venison or a bad spot on a vegetable.
I reckon the one for $37 might be okay if you really need one, especially since it's a real one and the other one...?

There's nothing special about the Etsy knife, just a regular 77OT without a tang stamp. There's no way that person can prove for certain when it was made, could just as easily have been made in 1990 and sold in the factory store as a second because no one noticed the blade wasn't stamped when it was made.
The Ebay knife on the other hand is MUCH more desirable as it's got the original box (mid '70's to 80's for that woodgrain), stamp, and blade etch.

The unstamped knife has an oriental or Asian look to it. I'm passing!

Thanks for all the replies. I knew the AAPK membership would chime in and share their knowledge.

Looks like the $120 etsy knife sold. Someone bought the story and got the knife for free.

Hard to beat a "free" knife!
