Waterville Bartender's or Corkscrew Knife

Post by Lama »

I picked up this knife at an estate auction a while back and am wondering about its authenticity. The raised pivot pins give me pause, as does how the blades line up when closed. The corkscrew has an interesting way of locking closed. It slides along the the handle in a slot when folded and is held down by a pin.

I think it could be an all original knife even though the master blade does seem to 'hyper-extend' a little. However i don't know anything about Waterville knives other than having owned a couple of them.
The sliding corkscrew is more often seen on German made knives. Hence it is also possible this is a German knife with a replaced master blade.
We need a real expert to comment. I hope one shows up and posts.

I would think the pen blade would have a Waterville stamp also.

Thanks for the replies KJ and Joe. Your observations lead me to then question this one, also from the same estate. Only the main blade is stamped. -Michael
