Buck 112 Black Lip Mother of pearl

Post by arksknives »

Here is a Black Lip Mother of Pearl Buck 112 that I did for a customer. I guess the handles are pretty rare because of the size of them. let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Eric

Eric,
That knife is beautiful. Those pearl scales on that 112 frame look awesome.

Looks good. Any time you go over 2-1/2 inches or 1/8 inch thick Black Lip Pearl - you are talking $$$$$$$!

http://www.elenhunting.com/Merchant2/me ... y_Code=MOP

I don't know if they get it any more but I think I paid $250.00 for a 1"x 3-1/2"x 1/8 inch thick.

At that time they only got 4 or 5 (I think) sets of Black Lip Pearl that large per year.

Very nice, Black Lip Pearl is very pricey! Michael Prater told me that an extra 1/16 inch thick (3/16) on my set of scales would cost about $1500.00!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Yes, this material is very costly. These were $300.00. My customer was told they only come across them this size about once every 3-4 years? I have no idea! Beautiful material though. I did have to put a spacer underneath the Black Lip MOP. Made me a little nervous to start cutting on that expensive material but it all worked out well. ::tu::
Thanks for all the positive comments.
