Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I walked around a local flea market this morning before church, and picked up this little Sharp brand SAK clone for $4. It has some scratches from normal use, but is still in decent shape.
I have a handful of Sharp brand knives, and I think that they were sold exclusively at K-Mart stores.
Most of them were made in Japan, so I was surprised to see that this one was made in Czechoslavakia!
I couldn't resist buying it!

THe only Sharp SAK clones I personally have seen were Japanese.Reverand wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 1:26 am I walked around a local flea market this morning before church, and picked up this little Sharp brand SAK clone for $4. Believe that to be a Mikov contract knife--recognized the can and bottle openers. They're still in business, and they're still making the same basic pattern in the "Stovka" range. It's the 100-NH-5 model.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I found this under a pillow on my futon in the spare bedroom.
It must have been there over a year now
Well I guess that counts as a "KNIFE FIND OF THE DAY"
This tang stamp was used by Camillus from 1960 to the late 1970s so I am glad to have it "back in the fold" and folded up down in my pocket

I agree; some great finds. Glad the Camillus was flushed out of hiding!

Thanks everyone!
It is good to "end up" with "another" Camillus without "coming out of
pocket
", even if it just my old knife going "back into pocket" so to speak

After many days of soaking, hardly anything to show for it. The blades are frozen shut/closed

Still hoping for some good results with it. A bath in oil may be in order?

It will need to be in the vinegar a while longer before it hit the oil. It has been over 100 degrees every day this week,

Thanks, gard and GSP, can't wait to see it in person. I do have one -40 but it's the NKCA one from 1985.

Struch out at the gun/knife show in Duluth, Mn. today so I headed over to the antique shop and found these three, all three for $70. Remington jack, NYK Hammer brand lg stockman, and a Queen Cut. No 19 trapper in burgundy composition. At the gun show I bought two bottles of rhubarb/cherry preservatives. You gotta buy something at a gun show.____DaveDu

Great pick-ups, Dave! The Remington in particular pushes a lot of the right buttons for me.

All I took home was a penguin figurine for my sister, LOL.djknife13 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 12:42 am Struch out at the gun/knife show in Duluth, Mn. today so I headed over to the antique shop and found these three, all three for $70.
