Queen Cutlery made knives for what other brands?
I have been searching for a few days now to try and find a list somewhere of all the companies for whom Queen made knives. Is there a resource that would be a comprehensive list? I can’t find it searching this forum or on the internet.
I know they made knives for:
A.G. Russell
Case Classics
Colonel Coon
Kabar
Smoky Mountain Knife Works
Winchester
Robeson Shuredge and Mastercraft
Marbles
Any others?
There are a lot of new collectors that I speak to that have no idea that Queen made so many other brands of knives. A complete list would be handy.

Re: Queen Cutlery made knives for what other brands?
These are brands that I have (or had--traded the hawksbill) in my collection that aren't marked Queen, but made by Queen.
Ontario--the Old Hickory folders were all Queen, and there were a TON of Ontario and Queen military folders that look identical. It seems there was also a "workhorse" line of carbon steel Queens well into the Delrin era that were sold as Ontarios and had "OK" stamps".
Moore Maker--through the very end of Queen. I had a #1L with an "OK" tang stamp but traded it for a Big Chief.
Moore Maker offered Queen-made knives from the beginning of MM in the '90s to Queen's closure. I think Queen's closure resulted in Case making some of the Moore Maker models in recent years.

Thanks Cody, I forgot about Moore Maker and Ontario. It will be interesting to learn if there are others besides these mentioned so far.

Thanks David, there are several on that list that I didn’t know about. I can usually tell when I am holding a Queen made knife and I have suspected that some were but had no other corroboration.edge213 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 7:58 pmSharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:25 pm I have been searching for a few days now to try and find a list somewhere of all the companies for whom Queen made knives. You can add "Maher & Grosh Cutlery" to your list.
Commencing in 2016 by Roger Cunningham and Ken Mundhenk. Roger is an active member here within AAPK.
The below pictured three "General Custer's Favorite" were produced by "Queen Cutlery"
Queen went out of business shortly after the below Hunters were produced. All future Maher & Grosh knives were produced by "GEC"
"General Custer's Favorite" Hunters, sold through AAPK in November, 2016:
1. Bone Stag. 2 Blade
2 .Bone Stag. 1 Blade
3. Ebony Wood. 2 Blade

IMHO some of the best Queen made are Schatt & Morgan. Don’t see them on your list but they owned the brand, like they did Robeson.

Re: Queen Cutlery made knives for what other brands?
Thank you Dan, I was completely unaware of these Maher and Grosh knives.
I didn’t mention Schatt and Morgan since they are already so closely associated with Queen. When I think of Queen made knives for me the best standard is Schatt and Morgan.
I wonder when the GEC fanatics are going to wake up to the high quality knives made by Queen for Schatt and Morgan, Winchester, Robeson, etc?
When you compare the quality of Queen made knives at their finest, it’s just as good as GEC. I think Bill Howard is the reason behind this since he was at Queen at the time and now is at GEC.

Re: Queen Cutlery made knives for what other brands?
Thank you Rookie. Now that’s a comprehensive listing. I sure wish there was a way to have pictures of every knife pattern that they made for all these other brands, but that would take up hundreds of pages I’m sure.

Re: Queen Cutlery made knives for what other brands?
Thanks for the clarification. The point I was trying to make and failed quite miserably to do so, is that both Robeson and Schatt & Morgan were more or less “in-house” brands. As opposed to knives contracted to be made for others.edge213 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 3:01 amQueen didn't actually own the Robeson name.
