Here is a Linder & Co cattle knife I picked up for the price of a pint of brew…
I would appreciate knowing the name for this knife shape and the approximate date of manufacture. Thanks in advance for any information.

A wonderful knife.MT-Vessel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 6:57 pm You people find such interesting knives!![]()
Here is a Linder & Co cattle knife I picked up for the price of a pint of brew…It was suffering from rust, a notched tip, a crescent shaped bone crack at the pile side center pin and general crud everywhere. I liked the heft, triple back springs, grooved bolsters, bone scales and swedged(correct word?) blades. Elbow grease, Flitz and superglue have improved its looks. Sadly the tip needed reshaping. It isn’t perfect but…..

That's a cool Linder. I have this 4 blade "JUNKERWERK", Ohligs, Germany, that I believe is also a Linder knife. Houston Price gives both names in his listing for Linder. The shields are identical. Great bone scales left "proud" at the bolsters. Maybe they're cousins.J.O'.

Sweet finds David!dlr110 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 6:54 pm So I walked into the local Ponder Hardware store and was greeted by Eddie the "Hardware Man." He told me they had received some new CASE knives in on Wednesday to which I said lets see them Eddie. Eddie then told me that these were the only two in red that they had received to which I answered, Eddie I'm going to buy both of them and now you don't have that problem anymore. Eddie the hardware man smiled real big....![]()
