Being a Western guy, I always check those out first.
One thing I notice is that the Western States Dox Fish Gaff knife (1931 to 1941) started out as very corroded and has been brush up. Still lots of dark in corrosion pits. It is also missing the gaff. The gaff should be visible even if closed, as the hook tip closes into the knife well and the shaft of the gaff would still be visible.
