Any Ideas About The Maker of This Auto?

Post by herbva »

Any ideas about who made this one? It came along in a collection I purchased recently and the only identifying mark I can see is the mark side tang stamp "INOX" (stainless) and what I believe is the number "247". I think the scales are thick bone jigged to look like stag. Thanks!

Begon is the maker.
It's French.

Beautiful knife Herb! ::tu:: You are, without a doubt, the luckiest guy I know! You buy a collection and a gorgeous quality auto just happens to be in it, jeez! You ought to buy a lottery ticket bud! I was trying to buy one exactly like yours along with 2 other similar models from Roadsideimports when they were still in business, but due to their fixed pivots the blades couldn't be removed for the necessary shipping, so it didn't happen. Considering the source it was probably a good thing! Enjoy your new knife! 8)

Thanks Mark. Sometimes you just get lucky. I only wish it was the lottery! Happy holidays buddy!
