Identify Vintage Switchblades

Post by backlip »

I realize this is probably a long shot with many of these being unmarked, but hoping someone may have some info. Since so many were produced without markings (besides INOX or Rostfrei) is there any way to truly know their origins?

One is clearly marked ERN w/ Crown and Sword logo = Freidrich Ern Co.

Any info is appreciated.

Personally I can't help identify your knives BL, other than the red and black Rizzys, but they all sure look good! I do own a knife very similar to the last model you posted, and it's a 9" Edgeco restricted import auto from the 80's, although, mine has a screw pivot and yours is a fixed pin, as well as, mine has a large double-capped pin directly below the safety that was necessary to install once the knife arrived to you cuz you had to install the spring yourself, and yours has a regular size pin so I might be way off. ::welcome:: to AAPK! ::handshake:: 8)

Top picture: Italians. Both appear to be fairly recent.
Second picture, red and black: Japanese. The red one is marked for a German company.
Bottom knife looks like an Italian Armando Beltrame 9" from the early 2000s.

Bill! Do you say the bottom knife might be an A/B cuz of the "B" stamped on the tang, or some other reason? Thx! 8)

Because Armando made most of the 9" knives of that period, regardless how they are marked.
