If it weren't for the fact I have totals coming for two large group of diecast cars bought from fellow collectors that built up over the past six months, I'd be all over that one.

The blades were still stuck closed after cleaning, it took some "mechanical-assistance" to get 'em open ::skeptic::
still more cleaning up to do, but at least I can open it "free-hand" and I know who made it! :)

Found this neat Buck Bantam 285 today in a Goodwill store for $3!!!!
It is not the style of knife that I usually carry, but it looks unused, is very lightweight, US-made, and scary sharp!
I am tempted to tote this one for a bit, just to see if I develop a feel for it.

Not crazy about that style either but, that knife has a very good look to it and you could get swayed a little by carrying it! Nice Find!

Nice find! I use the 284 and 285 heavily--they are great knives that weigh little.

I need to scour my Goodwill more thoroughly. I had figured that they did not sell any kind of knife due to them possibly considering them to be weapons. I'd looked over most of the store and didn't see much I wanted.

I go to a thrift store and I always looked in the tool section for axes or ax heads. I never saw any and ask a worker one day who told me "Oh no, we don't put anything sharp like out on the floor, we don't sell any weapons". She said they have received them in the past, but they end up mixed in with all the metal items they can't sell such as old grills broken metal chairs etc. Then all the metal is sold to a scrap guy... ::facepalm::
