oak
Gretings,
It is 20.5 cm / 8 inch long, the blade is 9 cm/ 3.5 inch long, 3.6 cm / 1.4 inch wide and 4 mm / 0.16 inch thick.
I hand forged it from 5160, 1.2516 and L6 with around 50 layers. The handle is made of deer antler, wenge and oak.
The sheath is made of 4 mm/ 0.16 inch thick, sturdy cowhide.

Re: oak
Excellent craftsmanship as we have come to expect. I really like the look of this knife. Something about it just demands it be taken afield and used frequently.

Re: oak
Glad you like it!
Yeah, I know what you mean. It splinters rather easily, if you carve it in the wrong direction. But with patience, it is workable and it does compensate all your efforts with a nice grain structure.

I like it hellize! That is a very manly knife. If a man is tough enough to use this knife, a little splinter shouldn’t phase him anyway if he gets one!!

But you misunderstood me brother. It could have splintered in the time I was carving it's handle. Now that it is finished, it will not!
No one is in danger of getting a splinter.

The knife and sheath demand to be used. A wonderful combination.

Looks great, and it will no doubt be an excellent working knife, too!
