Re: UPDATE: 2023, How is the current economy affecting your knife buying?
I’ve cut my spending on knives and alcohol way back. No purchase this year thus far. I have one on order from Frank in northfield covers but that’s the only one on my radar so far. I used to try and buy a GEC every time a new pattern came out and spend hours trying to hunt one down in every cover and if I couldn’t find one from a dealer I’d spend hours on Facebook groups or I’d give-in and spend top dollar just to have. The economy has takin it’s toll on my savings but not on my health or well being. My cousins gave me some Mad Dog 20/20 once before I was of age and I still remember the mess I made with puke
and the discuss
my aunt had in her eyes.

Don't look like I'll be buying much till spring. Gas bill is $152 this month. Thanks Joe.

I though it was bad last month but here in Indiana we've had some warm temperatures for this time of the year. Won't be buying any more knives till spring, I hate winter.

As far as I'm concerned you can still say "Great White", cuz only the folks south of the Equator wouldn't know it refers to snow, not skin color! They make Grohmann knives in Nova Scotia/Canada also, but you forgot the most important contribution "TGWN" has made to the world, ME! lol!

Samb, I know what you mean about the winters there. I lived in Merrillville IN. Till 1981 and said to hell with this cold weather and moved to AL.

When you say Great White here in Australia we think shark. When we go to the ocean for a swim we think Great White but we spend more time look at white pointers.Madmarco wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 11:21 pmAs far as I'm concerned you can still say "Great White", cuz only the folks south of the Equator wouldn't know it refers to snow, not skin color! Re: UPDATE: 2023, How is the current economy affecting your knife buying?
No sir Tom, you aren’t the only one. I can count on one hand the knives I’ve bought in the last year or so. I did trade for a couple of cheap ones the other day, and I have done some selling and trading up on some firearms, but mostly my wheeling and dealing has come to a halt.
I was at a gun and knife show a couple of weekends ago and the knife prices were insane. Things I used to be able to pick up in the $30 to $70 range were $125 and up. And the top shelf stuff made my nose bleed it was so high.
I’m guess I’ll just dane with the one I brung for a while.

I know prices go up... but "Come on man!" (To quote a "real genius"). Everybody selling can't stop talking 'bout how much one "just like the one" on their table just sold for on "Gun broker "
