Crimson Peach Seed series -- minus one
Another collection within a collection. Crimson Peach Seed Case XX. Note the Small Swell Center Jack and the huge Panama Trapper are Shepherd Hills exclusives in the series, where as the others were standard Case XX production. So, I think Shepherd Hills wanted to add to that handle pattern. Missing, but on back order, is the Sod Buster Jr. For those not familiar, the Sod Buster has no bolsters, but all handle both sides. Very unique.
They are in order top to bottom:
Peanut 6220
Small Swell Center Jack 6225 1/2 (shepherd hills exclusive)
Mini Copper Lock 61749L
Mini Trapper 6207
Medium Stockman 6347
Panama Trapper TB62546 (shepherd hills exclusive)

The Panama Trapper is indeed a big ol' hoss. A good-looking group!

Just in case you don't want to wait, there are two reputable sellers that have the Sodbuster in stock at this moment:
1. Case Knife Outlet-Alabama
2. Sooner State Knives-Oklahoma.

NICE!!! I'm a big fan of "sub-collections" (collection within a collection); there's something very satisfying about completing a sub-collection while continuing to add to the "macro-collection"-

I can hardly believe Case has the audacity to call that "peachseed" bone. The only companies to use true peachseed bone were Schrade and Ulster, it was a proprietary jigging pattern of Schrade's and actually resembled a peach pit's texture. Many consider the Schrade peachseed jigging as one of the nicest ever made. This Case version looks nothing like any peach pit I have ever seen. Maybe I just don't understand modern marketing.

...and the Sod Buster Jr arrived. 5th from top, or 3rd from bottom.
Sorry to those who dislike this set due to the peach seed jigging. I find them very attractive and love the crimson color as well. I was unaware of Schrade's ownership (or former) of the pattern. I like many brands of knives and will seek out Schrade's examples soon.

I don't dislike this crimson bone. I actually love it.
I have a Barlow, sodbuster and a stockman with this handle material.
My point is it's not "peachseed" jigging.

Not to pile on here . I really like the Case knives, but.....this is Peach Seed jigging on an Ulster Cattle knife. The pics don't do it justice. It's a great pattern on one of my favorite pieces. J.O'.

Re: Crimson Peach Seed series -- minus one
No worry. Case calls it peach seed -- I'm just calling what they do. Either way, I like that set that I have. I think it's more the color than anything for me...super dark almost brown in spots, and crimson elsewhere to white. Pics don't do it justice.edge213 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 11:07 pmLet me clarify.centennialknives wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 6:46 pm ...and the Sod Buster Jr arrived. 5th from top, or 3rd from bottom.

Beautiful! Having a few peach trees on my property, I know what the seed looks like, and this is beautiful!Ridgegrass wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 11:56 pm Not to pile on here . I joined this forum to learn and since then, I've picked up other makes, learned about more, and have spent a small fortune on knives other than Case.
I'll have to be on the look out for Ulster -- again, a new brand for me!

I believe you forgot the 6375 from 2021. I bought mine from Shepard Hills.

Re: Crimson Peach Seed series -- minus one
I completely agree. When I think of peach seed jigging Schrade immediately comes to mind, just like I think of Winterbottom being Queen and greenbone being Case. I guess Schrade being out of business now (the real Schrade, not the made-in-China Schrade) leaves Case wide open to call their version “peach seed” jigging.Gunsil wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 3:28 pm I can hardly believe Case has the audacity to call that "peachseed" bone. I do like the looks/color of Case Crimson bone though, regardless what jigging pattern.
